Washington DC is the capital of the United States of America. It is located in the East coast, by Virginia and Maryland, and it is famous all over the world because its cultural value.
Washington DC has several spectacular and well known monuments and buildings. Most people think the only significant building is the White House. However, the Lincoln monument and the Washington Monument are just as spectacular.
It also has a chain of museums about natural environment and history, which has a pretty funny origin. Apparently, an English multimillionaire gave all his money to the city to build museums because he thought Americans were too ignorant and stupid.
Sport lovers can also enjoy DC. Although the local football and basketball teams are not the bests, the hockey and baseball teams are the top teams in their leagues.
Washington is a great place to spend your holidays, and if you think you'd get bored of it, you could always take a train up to NYC!!
