Immigration

Immigration consists on moving from a home country to a foreign country. This movement has had mainly good consequences in history but, nowadays, it is the cause of an injustice known as racism.

Immigration makes people have contact with foreign and unknown cultures by meeting people from abroad. As a result, people is not as egnocentric and ignorant as they used to. Another positive effect of immigration is that it led us to trading and negotiating for other countries goods. Consequently, some countries benefited from the business done and others bought goods that couldn't be got by any other way.

However, immigration has also had negative consequences, and racism is one of them. Racism is the feeling against a person of a different ethnic group. This is due to the fact that most of the immigrants come from poor or developing countries and, since they don't have any money, they have no other choice but breaking the law for a living.

Racism is a personal feeling so there's not much to do about it UNLESS it goes to far and gets physical. Anyways, I would suggest racist people to have a look at the positive things immigrants have done to their countries, and do a deep reflexion about their feelings.

Description

The first impression people get about me is usually different of the way I really am, so I'm going to describe myself.

I have curly brown hair and brown eyes. I'm thin and I'm 175 centimeters tall. I have an earring and I don't have nor glasses neither braces. There's not much more to say about my physical appearance. I'd say I'm like any other guy, except that I'm short compared to people of my age.
I have a kind of a double personality. I'm friendly, funny and active and I'm always ready to go anywhere and do fun activities. However,  I have sudden changes of mood and I get angry, depressed and lazy. When this happens, I like to be alone, listen to music and do something distracting or any kind of physical exercise.
I love sports in general, specially soccer (I am, and will always be, a fan of Real Sociedad). I love doing different types of physical activities because I like to see how much tiredness and suffering my body can handle. Some people say I'm crazy but I don't care because that's what I enjoy doing.

I don't really know how to describe myself. After reading this essay you might think I'm nuts, but I'm not! It's impossible to make a precise description of me, so the only way to know me well is meeting me.

Are You Looking Forward To Voting?

The day I turn 18, I'll be legally an adult and I'll be able to do things that I couldn't do before, for instance, vote in elections. I've been thinking about it for a long time because I want to be able to take that kind of important decisions but, the problem is that politics is an unknown topic for me.

To tell the truth, I have absolutely no idea about anything related to politics. I don't even know the basic things like who the left or the right parties are. I'm 17 years old and, till now, I haven't had to worry about any of this stuff. However, I realize it's time to start learning about them. Honestly, I'm not excited about being able to vote. Nevertheless I will, despite the fact that I'm not going to make a big difference. Actually, I might not, since I rather not making a decision to making a wrong one.

In brief, I still have six months to make up m mind, thus, there's no rush. From now on, I'll pay attention to politics, I'll learn little by little and I'll decide what to do as the next elections come closer.

The Best Present I've Ever Gotten

Although I've gotten a lot of great presents, the best I've ever gotten was the one my grandma got me for my 10th birthday. It was a grey remote-controlled car.

It wasn't exactly a car. It was a huge four-wheeler. I remember how excited I got when I first saw it and how happy I felt when I first played with it. I didn't expect to get such an awesome present. All my cousins and the kids in my neighborhood were jealous of me and they would always ask me if they could play with it. Sometimes I let the other kids use it, but I always did it half-heartedly because i didn't find it easy to share.

I loved to play with it on the dirt. Every weekend, I used to go to my uncle's farm and I would always take my remote-controlled four-wheeler to play with it in the muddiest place I could find. When I was home, I would build circuits with books, DVDs, boxes or anything I could find around me. I played with it for hours and hours and, therefore, I would have to charge the battery several times a day.

I had to charge the battery so many times that, one day, it stopped working. It lasted me a year or two. I didn't feel too bad about it but I still felt a little sad because it was special for me. Now, 7 years later, I still have it.
